Geography Awareness Week 2008

Geography Awareness Week

Go on a virtual whirlwind tour of the world with MyWonderfulWorld, a National Geographic-led campaign to give kids the power of global knowledge, and Google. We are proud to again celebrate Geography Awareness Week (November 16-22, 2008), an initiative by National Geographic that promotes the importance of geography.

For 2008, explore a weeklong guide of activities to help you experience the many facets of geography including: cultural and physical geography, geospatial technologies, and Earth's hotspots. Explore Earth's marine ecosystems as you pilot an underwater vehicle. Hear from young people living and working around the world. So whether you're a teacher, student, or armchair geographer, it's a great way to polish up your skills and learn all about the fascinating ways geography is used around the globe.
